Covenant Groups

Small Groups, a.k.a. Covenant Groups, help members develop as Unitarian Universalists, both individually and as members of the church community. As the Rev. Dr. Thandeka (Tan-Day-Ih-Kuh) puts it, “Members of the group experience the ongoing, life-sustaining, and enhancing salvific community of openhearted and open-minded engagement as the living ground of faith…Feelings are noted, disappointments acknowledged, hopes expressed, and joys celebrated…This experience of life-affirming engagement can enhance the soul of our religious association.”

Currently efforts are underway to begin such groups at Northern Hills Fellowship. Currently our congregation is small enough that all members can feel a sense of community as part of one big group. But as we continue to grow in size, we know we will need to do something to maintain that sense of community. Small Groups are a great way to do that and so efforts are underway to start these groups in early to mid 2008.
