Neighborhood Groups

In response to the continuing growth of Northern Hills Fellowship, the Caring Committee developed a program called Neighborhood Care Groups. The congregation was divided into groups based on geographical regions, with the goal of improving ministry within the Fellowship.

The Neighborhood Groups provide the opportunity for members living near each other to get to know one another better; to celebrate together; to support each other in times of need; to welcome new members into the Fellowship; and to reach out to the larger community.

Each Group decides for itself where and how often to meet, and chooses activities of common interest. Possibilities include pot-luck suppers, game nights, sporting events, holiday celebrations, museum outings, birthday parties, and whatever else appeals to the participants. Groups may also decide to join together to work on a project to benefit the community.

The most important part of the Neighborhood Care Groups is for everyone in the congregation to have access to support, fellowship, and connectedness.
