Youth Group
The NHF Youth Group is composed of youth in the high school age group, who have completed the “Coming of Age” program. The group is self-directed with varied interests and is guided by adult facilitators.
The Youth Group’s purpose is to share experiences and ideas, explore issues with one another, and contribute to our community. Areas that have been discussed in the past include:
- How to deal with bullies
- Relationships
- Visiting other UU high school youth groups
Choices teens have to make
- What we think about our bodies and how we look
- Grieving - letting go of someone or something you love
- Meditation
- Friendship
- Teachers
- Parents
- Dealing with abusive relationships
- “If I could live in a different time”
- Improving schools
The Youth Group will meet in early September of 2008 and will choose their curriculum from three or four offered. They will meet for class twice a month.
